On 19 July 1814, the day after the book and atlas was published, Matthew Flinders died, at the age of 40. وفي اليوم ذاته (19 يوليو 1814) الذي نشر فيه العمل، مات فليندرز عن أربعين عاما.
She also appears on a relief from Amenhotep III's mortuary temple, found by William Matthew Flinders Petrie, (now in the Petrie Museum). كما تظهر صورها على آثار من المعبد الجنائزي لأمنحتب الثالث وجدها وليام ماثيو فليندرس بيتري، (الآن في متحف بيتري).
Its entrance was defined by Matthew Flinders as a line from Cape Catastrophe on Eyre Peninsula to Cape Spencer on Yorke Peninsula. مدخله عرفه ماثيو فليندرز كخط يمتد من كيب كاتاستروف على شبه جزيرة إير حتى كيب سبنسر على شبه جزيرة يورك.
It was named "Gulph of St. Vincent" by Matthew Flinders on 30 March 1802, in honour of Admiral John Jervis (1st Earl of St Vincent). و سمي ب"خليج سانت فنسنت" من قبل ماثيو فلندرز يوم 30 مارس 1802، تكريما لالاميرال جون جيرفيس (1 إيرل سانت فنسنت).
Three of these species described by Turner later became the types of new genera (Papenfuss, 1976) and (Huisman, 2000) Turner also received plants from Robert Brown (1773–1858) the botanist who accompanied Captain Matthew Flinders on the Investigator (1801–1805). ثلاثة من هذه الأنواع التي وصفها تيرنر أصبحت في وقت لاحق أنواعا جديدة من الأجناس تلقى تيرنر أيضا النباتات من روبرت براون (1773-1858) عالم النبات الذي رافق الكابتن ماثيو فلندرز على متن سفينة انفستيجاتور (1801-1805).
